Data Center Central Plant

Confidential ClientConfidential Location

CMTA developed and implemented new mechanical and electrical systems to expand central plant capacity for this confidential data center client. The initial project scope included the installation of two 1000-ton water-cooled centrifugal chillers and corresponding cooling towers, designed to align with the client’s operational demands while maximizing performance and scalability.

As the project evolved, CMTA was selected to provide comprehensive MEP services for the expansion. This involved the installation of two nominal 1,000-ton chillers, supported by three chiller water pumps, three condenser water pumps, three cooling towers, and one heat exchanger. The engineering solution also required new power distribution equipment to feed the additional systems, along with a complete rework of the existing electrical infrastructure to ensure seamless functionality.

Despite challenging existing field conditions, CMTA expertly reconfigured all associated piping and ductwork. These upgrades were meticulously designed to deliver optimized performance, align with the client’s operational demands, and provide future scalability.
