School System Upgrades with Geothermal Energy
Facility owners facing rising first costs and long-term operational expenses have a need for innovative funding solutions to support new projects.
As a trusted partner, CMTA regularly works with clients to pursue alternative project funding. These funding sources include utility incentives, grants, rebates, and tax credits that support energy efficiency, sustainability, and decarbonization investments. To date, CMTA has helped clients secure over $300 million in project funding incentives.
CMTA helps clients pursue alternative funding options for both renovation and new construction projects by identifying and leveraging opportunities such as utility incentives, federal clean energy tax credits, grants, and rebates. We ensure building owners maximize all available funding sources, turning sustainable solutions into cost-effective strategies. Through these funding pathways, our clients can achieve their energy and performance goals while delivering financial value, both in the immediate investment and long-term.
The money secured by incentives, grants, or rebates is 100% retained by the owner. We do not receive any additional financial incentive for helping owners procure external subsidies. This assistance has come in the form of prescriptive and custom utility rebates; utility rate savings and reimbursements; federal, state, and local grants; and interest-free financing. Recently, in 2025, CMTA secured almost $2,000,000 in clean energy tax credits for a school district in Kentucky. We exhaust every opportunity to provide the client with “free dollars” to bring the maximum value possible to any project. In 2022, CMTA secured over $10,000,000 in VALE grant funding for the largest airport geothermal wellfield central plant upgrade to date. Our team will seek out any grants and negotiated savings on behalf of the client and complete the application process.
