The MSG Sphere Studios in Burbank is an immersive content studio dedicated to creating multi-sensory live entertainment experiences exclusively for the Sphere in Las Vegas. The campus includes content development facilities, production and post-production suites, spatial audio mixing studios, camera and 3D-printing labs, and specialized spaces for testing and refining immersive experiences.
At the heart of the campus is Big Dome, a 28,000-square-foot, 100-foot-high, 190-foot-wide custom geodesic dome featuring a quarter-scale version of the screen used at the Sphere in Las Vegas. The facility incorporates a full-resolution, curved 16,000 × 16,000-pixel LED display with approximately 170 million LED diodes. Big Dome serves as a specialized screening, production, and testing facility for Sphere content, enabling teams to evaluate immersive sound and environmental effects—including heat, wind, and scent—in a controlled environment. The facility also incorporates a groundbreaking ultra-high-resolution camera system to support the development and capture of immersive content.
In partnership with Gardiner & Theobald and MSG Ventures, CMTA provided MEP/FP, low-voltage, commissioning, and lighting design services for this cutting-edge content facility, as well as the adjacent administration and production office spaces.
