Wood County Schools
Located on the Ohio River in Parkersburg, Wood County Schools (WCS) is the fifth largest district in the state of West Virginia. The district provides public elementary to high school services to nearly 13,000 students and provides numerous services to the community.
CMTA is working on a performance contracting project throughout the district, with the goal to address critical infrastructure needs.
Highlights of Phase 1, executed in 2021, include:
- Over 300 kW of solar PV installations at three schools, Kanawha Elementary School, Hamilton Middle School, and Edison Middle School
- Boiler and chilled water plant renovations at four schools
- Substantial heating ventilation and air conditioning renovations at four schools
- New windows, drop ceilings and lighting systems at two middle schools
- Installation of modern control systems at fourteen facilities
- LED lighting retrofits at 21 facilities
- Water efficiency upgrades at twelve facilities
Due to the successful execution of the first phase of work, Wood County Schools elected to solicit Phase 2 additional services. This scope includes:
- 500+ new windows with reduced thermal emissivity
- 115 operable egress windows
- Expanded building automation system controls for Edison Middle School, Jefferson Elementary School, and Parkersburg High School, for both the buildings and central plant
- New high-efficiency condensing boiler at Mineral Wells Elementary School
