This project was a Guaranteed Energy Savings Contract that included five school facilities in the McCreary County School District in Stearns, Kentucky. Construction for this project all took place over one summer and was substantially complete in 3 months. The project was completed on schedule starting in June once school was out and was substantially complete by August 12th.
At McCreary Central High School an air-cooled VRV heat pump HVAC system was installed to serve the gymnasium, auditorium, music and vo-tech wings. Interior and exterior LED lighting upgrades were also implemented.
At McCreary County Middle School, Pine Knot Intermediate School and Pine Knot Primary School, the HVAC systems were replaced with water source heat pump systems. The HVAC controls were also upgraded. Interior and exterior LED lighting upgrades were also implemented.
At Whitley City Elementary School the HVAC controls were re-commissioned. The existing constant speed pumps were converted to variable speed. Interior and exterior LED lighting upgrades were also implemented.
LED lighting upgrades were also performed at the Central Office, Athletic Field House, as well as the district maintenance offices.
The quality and supervision of the work was excellent. After eight months, utility expenses have nearly been cut in half for the buildings in this project. Kwh usage and utility costs have dropped considerably.
