This renovation gives us an opportunity to give our patients what they need. It’s one of my dreams come true.
Less Energy Usage = More Patient Care
IU Health committed to building a new 7-floor, 620,000 square foot facility in Bloomington, part of the new Indiana University Regional Academic Health Center. The new acute care facility also has a 115,000 square foot educational facility tied to Indiana University designed to support over 1,000 students. The facility contains state-of-the-art equipment to better serve the residents of Bloomington and surrounding areas. Services include emergency medicine, obstetrics, neonatal intensive care, diagnostic services, intensive care, and surgery. IU Health Bloomington opened in early December of 2021.
At the start of the project, IU Health had an aggressive plan for involving the local design community in helping with the many aspects of this facility. CMTA was a part of that design group, and at the time, our Technology Solutions group was the only firm selected to work on all buildings and parts of the project. As the project developed and schedules refined, CMTA was asked to meet the design needs of the entire acute care facility. We were able to assemble a team from our 400 plus employees to meet the schedules and design needs of IU Health. We are proud of this project and even more proud of the team that made it happen.
