CMTA is performing a hybrid Guaranteed Energy Savings Act project with ICS, our sister company. This complex project involves both a new 16,280 SF addition and extensive MEP renovations for West Broad Street Elementary School. CMTA is performing all MEP services for both the renovation and addition, as well as performing construction management services for the addition. ICS is overseeing the construction for the renovation.

The renovations include the following scope: 

• New HVAC hot water system with natural gas condensing boilers and pumps, hot water/direct expansion classroom unit ventilators, new rooftop AHUs and VAV boxes, new temperature control system
• New electrical system, including a new switchboard, step-down transformers and sub-panels, classroom circuits, and generator, as well as fire alarm, telecom, and security system improvements and installation of LED lighting
• Improved plumbing system with new natural gas-sourced domestic hot water heating equipment
• Replacement of damaged underfloor sanitary sewer lines, as well as new flooring and ceilings for corridors
• New AV system and roofing, in addition to refinishing floor, for gymnasium
• Finish and equipment upgrades, as well as new flooring, for kitchen and cafeteria

The addition includes the following features:

• 8 new classrooms that add much needed permanent instructional spaces, as well as additional instructional and staff areas
• All MEP systems are extensions of new systems installed in renovation
• Brick façade and modified bitumen roof
• Demolition of a modular classroom wing is also required
