Community Based Outpatient Clinic

USACE - Louisville District | Department of Veterans AffairsFort Knox Army Base

CMTA partnered with American Structurepoint and SemperTek to win this design-build contract for the Louisville Corps of Engineers. Although this is not a particularly large-scale project, it is sentimental to the Louisville District due to the recent partnership between the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Corps of Engineers. This is one of the first projects fully executed by the Louisville Corps on behalf of the VA. Therefore, this team is privileged to carry the torch to pave the way to success.

The Community Based Outpatient Clinic is a ground-up new clinic located adjacent to the new VA Medical Clinic on Fort Knox near the original Ireland Army Hospital. The clinic is 18,093 square feet and has a constructed budget of $8.75 million. The project was awarded under-budget, on-schedule and the construction efforts are currently underway. In typical CMTA fashion, we didn’t accept constraints but challenged them for the benefit of the Federal Government; this allowed equipment to be sized correctly and over $100,000 to be reinvested into features of the building more desired by the VA. This facility is anticipated to outperform the UFC criteria by utilizing 40% less energy.
