Phase 3 of the Guaranteed Energy Services Performance Contract for Marion County Public Schools encompasses two facilities, Glasscock Middle School and Marion County Middle School, totaling over 127,480 square feet within the district. This project is 50% funded through energy and operational savings. Construction has occurred while school was in session with minimal disruption for students and staff.
The scope for phase 3 includes an HVAC equipment replacement for Marion County Middle School, which features a partial heat pump replacement utilizing more energy-efficient geothermal water source heat pumps and a partial rooftop energy recovery unit replacement with more energy-efficient ventilation units. These upgrades also include new HVAC controls integrated into the existing system. For Glasscock Elementary School, the project entails a complete replacement of all makeup air units with more energy-efficient ventilation units, along with new HVAC controls integrated into the existing HVAC controls system.
