This project was a guaranteed energy savings contract for Clinton City Schools in North Carolina. 7 facilities, 566,076 square feet, were included in the project scope. 

This scope included:

  • installation of 107.83 kW solar photovoltaic array on the 800 Wing of Sunset Elementary School
  • replacement of Clinton High School’s roof with a new metal roof, insulation, and an ice and water shield vapor barrier
  • installation of a new 5-ton split direct expansion system for Auxiliary Services Building
  • installation of 23 new water-source heat pumps for Finch Street Building
  • installation of one new 230-ton air-cooled chiller for Sampson Middle School
  • installation of one new 800-000 btu high efficiency condensing boiler and one new 110,000 btu water source heat pump water heater for the Triangle Building
  • refurbishment of the Sunset Avenue Finch Building cooling tower
  • retro-commissioning of building automation system, ensuring precise scheduling and resets to save energy
  • retro-commissioning modifications, including new outside air flow sensors on AHUs and new return air carbon dioxide sensors
  • any older lamps and fixtures at 8 facilities will be retrofitted/replaced with higher efficiency LED lamps and fixtures

CMTA worked diligently to identify all potential energy conservation measures and collaborated with our team to identify and address significant needs while also incorporating priorities identified by the Superintendent.
