Over $1,500,000 ABOVE Guaranteed Energy Savings in the First 3 Years
Loudoun County Public Schools, located in Leesburg, Virginia, has partnered with CMTA Energy Solutions to implement a Guaranteed Energy Savings Contract at J. Lupton Simpson Middle School. A Technical Energy Audit of the building identified several opportunities to save operational costs while also improving the learning and working environment in the building. This project, which includes a 592.5 kW solar photovoltaic array, was completed over the summer of 2020. The solar array will offset 75% of the facility’s total electric usage!
The recently replaced roof made this school a perfect candidate for Loudoun County Public School’s first large solar installation. Another major objective of this project was the renovation to LED lighting throughout the building. The new LED lighting installed to date has already completely changed the look of the facility. Occupancy sensors will be installed in strategic locations to control the new lighting and dimming controls will be installed in all instructional and office spaces. The dimming controls allow the staff to adjust the light levels according to their specific needs. Additional project improvements are listed below.
