Andrew Honeyman

Andrew Honeyman, a Fargo, North Dakota native, leads CMTA’s industrial and central utility plant (CUP) market segments from the Upper Midwest. A North Dakota State University graduate, Andrew began his career designing nuclear and fossil fuel power plants before returning to Fargo to focus on central energy plant and process engineering. Since joining CMTA in 2017, Andrew has driven significant growth, helping the company exceed $1 billion in industrial and CUP construction projects. His technical expertise and deep understanding of central energy plant systems have made him a trusted mentor and valued resource for colleagues and clients alike.

Beyond engineering, Andrew mentors aspiring engineers and engages in community outreach, inspiring the next generation through practical insights and advice. His dedication, technical proficiency, and leadership have earned him trust and respect across the industry, solidifying his role as a forward-thinking leader in consulting engineering.

Richard Lopez

Combining technical expertise in mechanical and aerospace engineering with a broad liberal arts education, Richard brings a unique perspective to the field of engineering. His passion for learning and commitment to holistic problem-solving have been instrumental in shaping his career in the AEC industry. Over the past 14 years at CMTA, Richard has consistently demonstrated technical excellence and a forward-thinking approach, striving to bridge the gap between current challenges in the built environment and sustainable, affordable, and maintainable solutions. A notable example is his contribution to two Midland High Schools totaling over 1.5M square feet, where he optimized operational savings through cost-shifting strategies.

Alongside his technical achievements, Richard is committed to mentoring young engineers in CMTA’s Houston office, fostering a culture of innovation and sustainability. Balancing his professional contributions with a fulfilling family life, Richard exemplifies dedication and purpose both in his career and as a husband and father.

Bianca Schwanke

With 15 years of mechanical engineering experience, Bianca’s career exemplifies technical excellence, cultural pride, and leadership. Born in El Paso, Texas, to Mexican parents, she grew up immersed in tradition and music, developing confidence, teamwork, and a strong work ethic through Folklorico dance.

After graduating from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2010, she entered the engineering profession, quickly excelling in mechanical and plumbing design. Over the years, she took on increasingly complex projects, including the Panhandle State Hospital—her largest and most significant accomplishment to date. Today, Bianca leads CMTA’s new office in Fort Worth, Texas, fostering strong client relationships and building high-performing teams through open communication and collaboration. Equally devoted to her family, she shares a love of travel and adventure with her husband and two daughters, balancing her professional success with her family-centered values.

Graham Smith

Over the past 14 years, Graham’s career has reflected determination, adaptability, and an unwavering commitment to energy efficiency. Starting as an HVAC controls technician, he gained valuable hands-on experience optimizing energy systems and building strong client relationships. He later transitioned to an energy engineer and commissioning agent position, taking on leadership roles in advancing energy-efficient low-income housing and net-zero energy projects.

At CMTA, Graham has tackled complex projects, including initiatives to reduce energy consumption for hospitals. Notably, he led retro-commissioning projects at Mass General Hospital’s Main Campus, significantly lowering energy loads while advancing electrification across multiple buildings. Outside of work, Graham balances his professional achievements with family life, community volunteerism, and advocacy for sustainable design in his local area. His holistic approach to work and community impact underscores his role as a leader in energy efficiency and sustainability.

Tyler Stone

Tyler Stone is a seasoned professional with over 12 years of experience in lighting design, product management, and project leadership. As a Principal and Lighting Team Lead for CMTA’s Energy Solutions team, Tyler leads a dynamic group of specialists and engineers, driving projects from assessment through construction with precision and innovation. His career is defined by a unique blend of technical acumen, strategic problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, all supported by an uncommon academic foundation—a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Organizational Communication from the University of Kentucky. This background enables him to seamlessly bridge technical knowledge with client relationships, fostering trust and delivering tailored solutions in the performance contracting industry.

A dedicated mentor and leader, Tyler cultivates growth within his team by combining a people-first approach with a commitment to continuous learning. Beyond engineering, Tyler is a devoted husband and father of three and is deeply committed to serving his community.
