This project for the Kentucky Community & Technical College System was a Guaranteed Energy Savings Contract with Somerset Community College in Kentucky that covered four campuses, over 597,652 square feet. The project was 100% funded through energy and operational savings.
The project scope included:
- Extensive DDC system upgrades to 3 buildings and total controls system replacements at 3 additional buildings
- 1 chiller and 1 boiler replaced with a new highly efficient system
- 20 high-efficiency rooftop units installed, including fuel conversion from electric to natural gas heating
- VRF system renovation
- 89 VAV terminal units installed, including the replacement of constant volume with variable volume systems
- New interior LED fixtures and retrofits including occupancy sensor controls
- New exterior LED fixtures with bi-level motion sensing technology
- Computer power management for over 1,400 campus computers
- Utility rate savings resulting in more than $69,000 in annual savings
