NeoCity Academy

Kissimmee, Florida

Neocity Academy is a new 500 student, public STEM high school located in a new urbanist development at the epicenter of a boom in the high-tech, advanced manufacturing industry that central Florida is currently experiencing. NCA was designed to meet a strict state legislated budget and space requirements. It is a twenty-first century, immersive learning facility that will be used to educate and train the next generation workforce. Sphere, CMTA’s occupant engagement dashboard, will assist in teaching students and integrating the curriculum daily.

The variable-speed water-source heat pumps and Dedicated Outdoor Air System (DOAS) has been designed to exceed code requirements for indoor air pollutants to enhance cognitive performance in addition to occupant wellness. An improved thermal envelope and ultra-efficient LED lighting design helps drastically reduce the size of the required renewable energy system. The building’s 228kW photovoltaic system, which includes transparent Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV), will ensure that NCA remains energy positive for the lifetime of the system.
